Mas de la Cacadora
Mas de la Caçadora is a small, independent winery in Catalunya, located in the village of Els Guiamets in the Montsant wine region of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain.
Founded in 2003, Mas de la Caçadora began as a passion project by local wine lovers experimenting with artisanal winemaking. The initial batches were shared among friends and family, and positive reception encouraged the creators to formalise their efforts and begin selling wine under the Mas de la Caçadora label.
The winery cultivates its own vineyards (approximately 8.5 ha) in the DO Montsant, an appellation known for expressive wines from Garnacha, Cariñena and other Mediterranean varieties growing in varied soils and warm continental climate.
Mas de la Caçadora’s philosophy is deeply rooted in respect for nature and sustainable viticulture. The vineyards are worked without synthetic chemical products, seeking ecological balance, biodiversity and healthy vines. This approach carries through to the cellar, where the winemaking embraces creativity and tradition.
The winery produces a diverse range of wines, including:
-
Reds such as Rosa La Guapa, a blend dominated by Cariñena with Garnacha and Merlot, often showing ripe fruit, gentle spice and balanced structure with some oak influence.
-
Whites and rosés, including Garnacha Blanca and Muscat or other blends, with fresh and expressive character.
-
Additional artisanal bottlings that reflect experimentation and individuality.
Mas de la Caçadora keeps its production relatively small and artisanal, with limited volumes and a focus on characterful, personality-driven wines rather than large-scale output.
Overall, Mas de la Caçadora represents a creative, terroir-oriented boutique winery in Catalunya’s Montsant region—one that blends local vineyard identity with sustainable practices and a spirit of experimentation.
